Welcome to Scotty Dutton Bagpipes

The Great Highland Bagpipe has opened many doors for Scotty over the years and has brought him many friends. Years ago as a child he learned the pipes. One has only to experience the passing of a bagpipe and drums band to experience the very special attraction of the instrument and its varied music.

The bagpipe is especially suited to the art of the highland dance, the joy of the wedding, the solemnity of the funeral, and the grace of the memorial. In addition, the Great Highland bagpipe is a wonderful solo instrument.

The next best thing to hearing the bagpipe is learning to play the bagpipe. Scotty teaches the bagpipe to people of all ages. Currently he has students ranging from age 9 to past 60. All are doing well. Stop at the Kilt and Thistle in Salem on any Saturday where Scotty has a studio. He will be happy to talk with your about his program to learn the pipes.
